The manager behind N.W.A, Jerry Heller has filed a defamation lawsuit against group members, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, NBC Universal, the estate of Eazy-E and all other parties associated with the Straight Outta Compton biopic which hit the screens mid-August.
Earlier this week it was reported by TMZ that Heller had stated that he didn’t give permission to use his likeness for the movie and that certain excerpts of his memoir, ‘Ruthless’ were used without his permission.
In addition to this, Heller reportedly states that he wasn’t fired by Eazy-E, nor did he drive Ice Cube or Dr. Dre to sign the contracts that would see them underpaid for the N.W.A. projects put out under Ruthless Records.
It is reported that Heller is suing for $35 million in compensatory damages, as well as $75 million in punitive damages.
