Just yesterday Charlie Sheen announced to the world that he is HIV positive, a startling admission to the entertainment industry that the threat of the virus is still a very real thing.
Today Lil Eazy-E, son of the legendary Godfather of Gangsta rap, Eazy-E has spoken out about how his father passed away in 1995 due to complications from AIDS.
Speaking with TMZ, Lil E said that he thinks that Charlie is lucky to be alive in a day and age where scientific advancements allow for people who are HIV positive to have a full life expectancy.
He went on to say that back in 1995, there were no lifesaving treatments for the virus which led to his father’s death and that the biggest difference between Charlie Sheen and Eazy-E is that Sheen will get to see his kids grow up.
Lil Eazy-E has also stated that he believes that Charlie’s announcement and status can help to bring awareness to the HIV / AIDS virus.
